Wegmans Coming to Cary, NC
The much anticipated Wegmans located in Cary, North Carolina has finally announced an opening date of Sunday, August 2nd at 7 am. It is located in the new Twin Lakes Center off Davis Drive. To get there take the new Morrisville Parkway exit off 540 and turn left on to Davis Drive. It's approximately three miles from the exit. It's 2.5 miles north of the Bradford Publix. Take a look at how far along the construction of the building is currently:

This location is 103,000 sq. ft. and it will include their Burger Bar restaurant. They are currently hiring for 300 part-time jobs. The store will employ 450 people. Learn more from the Store Manager:
The photo below shows a viewpoint from the end of the parking lot looking north. It looks like parking is quite limited considering how busy Wegman stores tend to be. They were originally going to have a parking deck under the store. I'm glad they didn't go that route because the Publix in Winston that has a parking deck under the store has exhaust fumes in the parking garage and in the elevators. Hopefully, as Wegmans opens more locations in the Triangle the stores won't be so ridiculously crowded. Four more locations are in the works including Chapel Hill, a 2nd Cary location near Cary Towne Mall, Wake Forest, and Holly Springs.
There are small stores being built on the south side of the Twin Lakes Center. Some of the business announced so far are PM Pediatrics, Andy's Frozen Custard, Hollywood Feed, Great Clips, and Paris Nails.
Needless to say, I will not be visiting during their grand opening since the Raleigh grand opening had 3,000 people standing in line before they opened and 30,000 visitors! That madness I will not be a part of. I'll wait a few weeks or more if necessary when the crowds die down. Hopefully, they will offer Instacart pickup like their Raleigh location does. We haven't returned to the Raleigh location since it's such a long drive and it's in a congested area. We are looking forward to the Cary location since it's much closer to home.
