But if you want me to mention which Indonesian band that is loved by many people, have loyal fans, give good examples, not involved in any scandal, and have a steady and long career, then I must say it’s Sheila on 7!
Chosen as the first single of MUSIM YANG BAIK’s album that was released in 2014, Lapang Dada was well welcomed by Indonesian music listeners. See? None of their album is failed! Everybody loves them.
This is a story about a man who was left by his ex-girlfriend to marry another man. It was meant to be fun and funny, but I cried a river while watching the music video the first time. I always am so melancholic when it comes to love story, especially unrequitted love, no one deserves to be broken hearted, but that's how life goes. Lol. Well, I tried to translate the lyrics into English. Because of this, I now know what lapang dada’s real meaning. I used to believe that it was the same as sabar/ patient, but I was wrong. According to Indonesian Dictionary, lapang dada has the meaning as lega / relieved. So here it is the translation. Enjoy!
